Hair Inspiration Sunday!

Why hello! Long time no speak. Lol. Well what better day to blog than to post some hair inspiration?
Well I know that many naturals follow natural hair Instagrams and have Pinterest boards dedicated to natural hair. Because of that it's often that you'll run into the same picture constantly. One picture that I always ran into was this one.
 

I always marveled at this hair style and I always wondered who was the woman rocking it she is gorgeous! Well this year after watching Dear White People (which is a GREAT movie and you should see it if you haven't) I finally found out who she is.

Teyonah Parris is a talented actress who currently stars in Starz original series Survivors Remorse and she is also the star in Spike Lee's newest film Chi-Raq. In addition to being a great actress she rocks some of the greatest natural hairstyles I have seen. Here are some of her looks.




I love how versatile she is with her looks. Teyonah proves that having natural hair doesn't put you in a box and you really have a lot of options. I look forward to imitating some of this hairstyles in the near future!

Hair Inspiration Sunday!

Haven't done this in a minute but I look forward to expanding this feature with my blog in the next couple of months. But in the meantime let's admire someone who've I've looked up too for a VERY long time. Ms. Erykah Badu!

While I won't speak for ALL naturals, I can say I speak for most naturals when Erykah Badu is a hair inspiration. One of the things that I love most about Ms. Badu's hair is her ability to transform her look, she doesn't stick with a Big Fro all the time, sometimes she's rocking a short fro, maybe some braids and heck for the next couple of months it's a turban. EB shows us that it's okay to change up your look and okay to be natural, even if your hair isn't super long. This is why I choose Erykah as my inspiration on this lovely Sunday. Shine on Ms. Badu, shine on.

I searched high and low for this magazine cover. I was so glad when I finally laid my hands on it. Lol

 Buns are a staple in the natural hair world. Badu gets it right.

Hair Inspiration Sunday!

Happy Sunday Everyone! I think I'd like to take time out to show a natural inspiration of mine! Drum roll please! Yes! It's Ms. Corinne Bailey Rae! Her hair always looks so nice a luscious to me! One thing that I can also appreciate about her hair is I remember how it looked like only a few years ago.  That to me gives me hope and lets me know that black hair truly grows! Right now I consider my hair to be at that beginning length right now and I want to try that curl hairstyle...it maybe in the works soon! I'll be sure to keep you all posted. But for know I can only dream of lengths that Corinne has inspired me to reach!
